\nEt maintenant, \u00e9coute-moi. Je suis all\u00e9 pour toi et pour l’umuzimu de la reine, dans le marais, dans le grand marais sans fin de la Nyabarogo. Il n’y a pas de sentier, si tu t’y enfonce, tu marcheras, tu marcheras sans pouvoir en sortir. Mais moi, je sais comment aller jusqu’\u00e0 une petite hutte… C’est la demeure du Tambour. Quand tu entres dans la hutte, tu ne peux pas le voir, il est dans la terre, bien profond dans la terre au-dessous de toi. C’est Karinga, le Tambour des rois, la racine du Rwanda, dans ses entrailles, il contient tout le Rwanda… ( p.143-144 )<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Les marais de la Nyabarongo o\u00f9 j’ai imagin\u00e9 qu’\u00e9tait enfoui Karinga. De nombreux Tutsi se sont cach\u00e9s dans ces marais pour tenter d’\u00e9chapper au g\u00e9nocide.<\/p><\/div>\n

As-tu entendu mugir Karinga? Quand Karinga grondait \u2013 car on ne battait pas Karinga comme les autres tambours, c’est de lui-m\u00eame qu’il grondait \u2013 c’est tout le Rwanda qui l’entendait, on disait que tout ce qu’il y a sous le ciel l’entendait… (p. 144 )<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\nMais d\u00e8s qu’elle sortit du couvert, elle aper\u00e7ut non loin un arbre isol\u00e9. Il n’\u00e9tait pas charg\u00e9 de fleurs rouges ( elle savait qu’il ne fleurissait qu’en saison s\u00e8che) mais \u00e0 son \u00e9corce crevass\u00e9e, \u00e0 ses branches serpentines, elle reconnut l’arbre qu’elle cherchait, l’\u00e9rythrine, l’umurinzi, le gardien comme on devait l’appeler par respect, celui que les abiru avaient choisi, il y a si longtemps pour accueillir l’umuzimu de la reine. En parcourant les sentiers qui menaient aux huttes, elles finirent par d\u00e9couvrir une femme qui modelait un pot.
