Apr\u00e8s deux romans, elle signe le recueil de nouvelles <em>L\u2019Iguifou <\/em> \u00e9voquant le g\u00e9nocide au Rwanda m\u00ealant \u00e0 la fois ses souvenirs et la  fiction. Un recueil de nouvelles r\u00e9compens\u00e9, samedi soir, par le 20e  prix Renaissance de la nouvelle.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cJe suis tr\u00e8s heureuse et, en m\u00eame temps, dans une autre dimension <\/em>\u201c, a indiqu\u00e9 l\u2019auteur. \u201c<em>En  1973, j\u2019\u00e9tais \u00e9l\u00e8ve assistante sociale \u00e0 Butare. Il y a eu le g\u00e9nocide  en 1994 et de nombreux membres de ma famille ont \u00e9t\u00e9 tu\u00e9s. Il y a 10  ans, je suis revenue au Rwanda et la brousse avait tout envahi\u2026 C\u2019est l\u00e0  que j\u2019ai compris que je devais t\u00e9moigner.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Son premier roman, <em>Inyenzi ou les cafards <\/em>, est autobiographique. Tandis que le second, <em>La Femme aux pieds nus, <\/em> se voulait un hommage \u00e0 sa m\u00e8re, aux m\u00e8res-courage et aux femmes  d\u2019Afrique. Quant \u00e0 son recueil de nouvelles, il lui a permis de s\u2019ouvrir  \u00e0 la fiction et de se rapprocher des contes que lisait sa m\u00e8re. <em>\u201cJe suis en train de finaliser l\u2019\u00e9criture d\u2019un roman mais je ne renonce pas \u00e0 la nouvelle\u201d <\/em>, a pr\u00e9cis\u00e9 Scholastique Mukasonga.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cVotre recueil honore notre prix, par le th\u00e8me trait\u00e9\u00a0: le g\u00e9nocide rwandais, et par l\u2019\u00e9criture\u00a0: sobre, \u00e9l\u00e9gante, distanci\u00e9e\u201d, <\/em> a indiqu\u00e9 Michel Lambert, \u00e9crivain ottintois \u00e0 l\u2019origine du prix avec Carlo Masoni. \u201c<em>Durant  ce voyage de 20 ans, le genre de la nouvelle est devenu tr\u00e8s  prot\u00e9iforme. Votre recueil participe de ce renouveau. Parmi les recueils  prim\u00e9s, tous ont un point commun, ils travaillent autour de l\u2019intime.  Le v\u00f4tre \u00e9voque l\u2019intime \u00e0 travers le collectif.
