Shelf Awareness Review : The Barefoot Woman

Reviews - Scholastique - December 5, 2018

Shelf Awareness - Book Review : The Barefoot Woman by Scholastique Mukasonga, Rwanda, memoir, genocide, literature

You can read in the November 19th edition of Shelf Awareness a review of Julia Kastner on my upcoming release in the United States ‘The Barefoot Woman‘, the translation of my book “La femme aux pieds nus”. It will be released December 18, 2018 at my publisher Archipelago Books.

A shadow of tragedy hangs over this lovely, lyric memoir of Tutsi childhood in Rwanda, but the author’s love for her strong mother remains central.
